St. Mary’s Catholic School Lights the Way

 
Sunday marks the beginning of Catholic Schools Week, the national celebration of what makes Catholic education special.  Please join us for this week’s events:

Sunday, January 27      St. Mary’s Catholic School Lights the Way: In Our Parish.  All School Mass at 10:00 a.m., Immaculate Conception Church, Pine City.  Open House at St. Mary’s Catholic School after the 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. Masses.

Monday, January 28     St. Mary’s Catholic School Lights the Way: In Our Community.  Monday afternoon at 1:30 P.M. St. Mary’s School has Invited the Pine County Sheriff’s Department , Pine City Fire Department, Public School Lunch Personnel and Westerman School Bus Drivers to St. Mary’s School.  We will honor all for their service to St. Mary’s School.  Refreshments will be served.

Tuesday, January 29   St. Mary’s Catholic School Lights the Way: In Our Vocations.  Fr. David Forsman, Deacon Eugene Biever, Sister Terese Seiko, Mr. and Mrs. Chad and Tina Faur, Mr. Chad Hughes, Mr. Chris Miller, Mrs. Phyllis Schlagel will be speaking to the students about their vocations.  Speakers will share with the K-2 students from 1:00-2:00 p.m. and with the 3-6 students from 1:30-2:00 p.m.  At the January Home and School Meeting which starts with a 6:00 Potluck in the school cafeteria, Sister Terese Seiko, will speak to parents and families.  Her topic is The Spiritual Development of Children. Sr. Terese will speak at 6:30 p.m.  After her talk, there will be a brief  business meeting for parents and school personnel.  All parents, from St. Mary’s School, Immaculate Conception and the Pine City Community are invited to join us for this special evening!.  Grandparents are welcome too!

Wednesday, January 30  St. Mary’s Catholic School Lights the Way: In Our Nation.  We will begin celebrating our Nation at our  all School Morning Mass.  We will pray for peace during the Mass.  Students will wear their red, white, and blue shirts.  Each will also wear a red, white, and blue pin they made celebrating our nation.  Students also sent letters to their legislators at the state and national level letting them know what they would do if they were a senator or representative.  They also told them why they choose to attend St. Mary’s Catholic School.

Thursday, January 30  St. Mary’s Catholic School Lights the Way: In Our Students.  Students will have a Pizza Lunch at St. Mary’s School Cafeteria at 10:45.  They will then go Ice Skating/Sledding in Sandstone.  Students will return in time to catch their regular bus ride home. 

Friday, February 1.  St. Mary’s Catholic School Lights the Way: In Our Faculty, and Staff.  Mrs. Denise Degerstrom, of the Catholic Aid Association will be serving lunch to the teachers and support staff.  As a Catholic School Family, students and teachers will watch a movie.  Students are allowed to wear PJ’s and bring a pillow or blanket.  Popcorn will be served.
